Created in 1995, the Cleveland Scholarship & Tutoring Program provides scholarships to Cleveland students to be used toward tuition at the participating school of their choice. The scholarships are worth $4,250 for students in grades K-8 and $5,700 per year for students in high school. The scholarships are renewable through high school graduation.
See what participating schools are saying…
“Ultimately it is about freedom for all children to have access to a quality educational seat.”
– Rich Clark, St. Martin de Porres High School
“The voucher has allowed private schools to become more inclusive and makes a private school education a realistic option for low and middle income families.”
– Peggy Schauer, Luther Memorial School
Become a Provider
Both private and public schools in Cleveland can sign up to accept CSTP students using their SAFE account. Click here for step-by-step instructions from the Ohio Department of Education to register your school to participate in the program. Here is an 8-minute YouTube video from ODE that explains how to sign up: http://bit.ly/18CtRQ0.
Participating schools agree to track the attendance of the students with vouchers and administer the cost-free state assessments to all voucher recipients starting in third grade.
Students will apply through each schools' regular admission process and then the school that enrolls the child will apply for the scholarship on their behalf.
If you have questions about becoming a provider for this scholarship program, contact the Ohio Department of Education at 877-644-6338.
